Testimonials

My name is Rich Eldred; I spent 10 days in October of 2010 taking surf lessons with Ken Bradshaw on the North Shore of Oahu. I have been surfing most of my life and would consider my skill level to be intermediate, but after working with Ken my surf skills have advanced to a level I never thought possible. Working with Ken was everything I hoped it would be and more.

For all surfers a trip to the surf Mecca of Hawaii is a must, but if you’re like me packing up your boards, paddling out to a reef break and hoping for the best is not the way to go. Choosing to work with Ken was a no brainer. First you’re working with Ken “the Man” Bradshaw, (I think that should say it all). Second Ken has countless years of surf experience and knowledge. Third Ken produces results and is super fun to work with.

Working with Ken was everything that I hoped for, but nothing like I imagined. In the correspondence I had with Ken before the trip I gave him a list of things that I wanted to work on, and each of those items I could check off by the end of the trip, but how he went about doing it was way different than I had imagined. On my first day with Ken he evaluated my surfing and right away pointed out three things I needed to work on: duck diving, breathing and fear. I decided before my trip that I was going to really yield myself to Ken’s expertise to advance my surfing, and even though at the beginning of the trip I found it hard to see how these 3 things could be impacting my ability to smack the lip harder or complete a perfect cutback, but they were. We focused on improving these skills and with every day all other aspects of my surfing were falling into place like magic. By the end of the trip I was riding waves on a 6’4 that normally I would have used my 6’8 in that size surf. I was taking of deeper in the pocket and hungry for bigger and steeper waves. I left Hawaii having surfed the biggest and best waves of my life with confidence and knowledge.

My trip was only not just great because Ken quickly helped me to reach my surfing goals and strive for new ones, but I got to work with one of the greatest surfers of all times. Despite all of his accomplishments, Ken is a super cool and a very down to earth guy. He was a pleasure to work with and an encyclopedia of surf knowledge of which he gladly shares. If you want to take your surfing to the next level, and catch the best wave of your life Ken is your man.

I was super stoked and you will be too!

Rich
